Exeter - Paula M. Bernstein, 79, of Prentiss Way, died March 24, 2012 at The Inn at Spruce Wood in Durham.
Born in New York City, NY, on June 27, 1932, she was the daughter of Irving and Fay (Richman) Miller.
Paula loved to travel and worked as a travel agent for many years. She and her husband traveled worldwide. They especially enjoyed their annual trip to Bermuda over the past 30 years.
She had a great love for her grandchildren and grand dogs, and a passion for England and the Royal Family.
An impeccable dresser Paula always had matching shoes, purses and watches. She collected many things - rubber bands, bows from presents and coronation memorabilia were among her favorites.
Paula was a lifetime member of Hadassah.
She was predeceased by a son, Michael Bernstein and son-in-law Robert Dupont in 2005.
Paula is survived by her husband of 60 years, Joseph H. Bernstein of Exeter; three children, William A. Bernstein and his wife Beth of Portland, CT, Robert A. Bernstein and his wife Carol of Framingham, MA, Deborah Dupont of Newmarket, NH, her daughter-in-law Carole Bernstein of Medway, MA and her grandchildren, Jennifer, her husband Christopher,David, Emily, Joshua and Jacob.
Visiting hours will be held at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Street, Newmarket, on Wednesday, Mar. 28th from 9 – 11 a.m. followed by a memorial service at noon at the Durham Evangelical Church, 114 Dover Road, Durham.
Private burial will take place at the New Hampshire State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen.
