Emily B. Pawnell

Dover- Emily B. (Starr) Pawnell, 85, of 3 Elliott Park, Dover, went to be with her Lord and Savior on October 24th, 2012.

She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and a friend to so many and will be missed dearly by all the lives she touched on a daily basis.

She was born in Exeter, NH, on January 16th, 1927, the daughter of Thomas (Eddie) and Edna Starr (deceased), and was the wife of Francis (Chic) Pawnell (also deceased).

Emily started her education, grades 1 thru 6, in a one room school house on Packers Falls Road in Newmarket. The land that the school house was built on was given to the Town by her grandfather Dane. She then completed grades 7 thru 12 at the Newmarket High School, graduating in 1944.

She worked many years in the office of United Tanners that was located on Orchard St. in Dover. One of her many loves was to be in a location where the word of God was being preached. She was very active in Bethel Christian Church located in North Berwick, ME. She attended many church events throughout the states over the years with her late husband Chic. She was active in the 27 Club, plus for many years was active in the Red Hat Society.

Family members include her son, Thomas Pawnell and his wife Maureen of Newmarket; her four grandsons, Thomas Mark Pawnell and his wife Lisa of Rochester, Timothy Pawnell and his girlfriend Cristina of Rochester, Zachary Pawnell and Joshua Pawnell both of Newmarket. She also leaves behind her great grandchildren, Gabriel and Jackson, sons of Timothy, and Callie and Hunter children of Zachary; her brother, Herbert and his wife Joan, of Bay St. Louis, Mississippi, plus nieces and a nephew.

Besides being predeceased by her husband and parents she was preceded by a daughter Pamela Pawnell of Dover.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, Nov. 1st at 12 Noon at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Street, Newmarket. Burial will follow in Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket.
