Newfields- Robert J. Collinge, “Pastor Bob” 50, of Railroad Avenue, died November 1, 2012 at Exeter Hospital.
Born December 10, 1961 in Exeter, NH, he was the son of David and Dorothy (Keyes) Collinge, and had lived in Newfields for most of his life.
Bob attended Newfields Elementary School, and was a 1979 graduate of Exeter High School. In high school he participated in winter and spring track and was a member of the New Hampshire All State Chorus. He was a member in the Newfields Youth Group run by Michael and Donna Rowe, which was instrumental in his walk with the Lord.
In 1979 Bob joined the US Army and was stationed in Kaiserslautern, Germany, where he was a member of the Kleber Gospel Hour, where he worshipped and sang with the choir. He left the Army in 1982.
Since 1988 Bob has been employed at Foss Manufacturing in Hampton.
In 1994 Pastor Bob established the Christian Faith Church of Newfields. He was kind and gentle and had a wonderful singing voice that praised the Lord. Bob was devoted to both his family and his Church family.
Bob loved the Wizard of Oz and for the past 20 years has collected Wizard of Oz memorabilia. In the summer of 2011 he found a passion for working in theater and starred in his first production of The Music Man. Presently he was the stage manager at the Leddy Center in Epping for the production of The Wizard of Oz. He was proud to be a member of the Leddy family.
In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his sister Judy.
Bob is survived by his wife of 21 years, Diana (Heath) Collinge, and his two children Karianne E. Collinge and Robert James Collinge II. He is also survived by his sisters, Nancy Brooks and her husband Victor of Sanford, Fl, Marjorie MacDonald and her husband George of Poinciana, Fl, Priscilla Saucier and her husband Leo of Gonic, NH; his step-mother, Pat Collinge of Sebring, Fl; his cousin, Barbara Keyes of Maryland; an aunt, Vilroy Keyes of CT., and an uncle, Alan Collinge of MA; and by his beloved church family.
A Memorial Visitation will be held on Monday, Nov. 5th from 3-6 p.m. at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Street, Newmarket.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 6th at 11 a.m. at the Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home.
Rather than flowers, should friends desire, memorials may be made to an education fund for Bob’s children in care of Aaron Belanger, 23 Piscassic Road, Newfields, NH 03856.
