Ruth Richmond

Newmarket - Ruth Richmond, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother died Friday, November 9, 2012 in Newmarket, NH.

Born March 22, 1922 in Reading, MA, Ruth received her Associates degree from Westbrook College in 1941 and completed her BA at the age of 73 from the University of New Hampshire in 1994, graduating Magna Cum Laude.

Ruth was a longtime resident of the Lee/Newmarket area. She was a constant support for her loving husband, Herbert, during their 67 year marriage, an active member of the community church - serving as treasurer as well as teaching Sunday school. She was President of Women’s Club and was a founding member of the Triangle Club, serving as Secretary for several years. She worked at Gallant Manufacturing as well as at Phillips Exeter Academy.

She was predeceased by her son, Burt Richmond, her grandson, Stephen House and her son-in-law, Norman Hess. She is survived by her Husband, Herbert Richmond, her daughters, Polly House and Patricia Hess; her son, Russell Richmond and his wife Jennifer; her granddaughters, Sherry Simmons and Amanda DeBlauw; her grandsons, Christopher Richmond and Brian Kucharski and his wife Jen; as well as her great grandsons, Garret Simmons, Mason, Gabriel and Willem Kucharski and Thomas Richmond; great granddaughter, Bridget Richmond and great great grandsons Kevin and Vincent Simmons.

Visiting hours will be held on Monday, Nov. 12th from 4 to 6 p.m. at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, 77 Exeter Street, Newmarket, NH.

A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 13th at 11:00 a.m. at Kent & Pelczar Funeral Home, with burial immediately following at Riverside Cemetery, Newmarket. A small reception will be held at the Newmarket Senior Center for friends and family to gather and reminisce following the burial.

Should friends desire, memorials may be made to a charity of one’s choice in memory of Ruth.
